Established on January 9, 1998, the Down Syndrome Foundation R.O.C. was formed through the collaboration of families of individuals with Down syndrome, scholars, experts, and other dedicated individuals and organizations. The Foundation promotes professional research, execution, and consultation in areas such as medical care, nursing, health maintenance, early intervention, and vocational training. It advocates for the lifelong rights and benefits of individuals with Down syndrome, enhances preventive education, alleviates national burdens, serves society, and remains dedicated to supporting individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities.
To help the public better understand the work of the Foundation, we welcome visits to our facilities.
To ensure smooth visiting activities, please follow the instructions below:
Making a Reservation:
The Foundation provides tailored services for individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities through various programs. Visits are part of our advocacy services and not aligned with fixed schedules. To protect the rights of our service recipients, please book your visit at least two weeks in advance by phone and complete the Visit Application Form. This allows us to understand your needs and coordinate with relevant personnel at the service site. To maintain service quality, each session is limited to 30 participants, and visits typically last 1.5 to 2 hours. Special requirements can be discussed separately.
The Foundation's service locations primarily cater to early intervention, day care services, and sheltered employment training. Visitors are welcome to participate in activities such as handmade soap crafting and mug image transfer services, supporting the Born to Shine Community Daytime Workshop (referred to as "The Workshop").
During the visit, to protect the portrait rights and personal information of individuals with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities, any recording or filming must be explicitly noted on the Visit Application Form. This ensures that staff can make the necessary arrangements in advance. Requests not made prior to the visit cannot be accommodated. Thank you for your understanding.
The visitation schedules at each service location are flexible to ensure the rights and daily routines of our service recipients are not disrupted. If necessary, the Foundation may redirect visits to alternative service locations.
In the event of a cancellation, please notify us by phone at least one day in advance.
Complete the Visit Application Form → Submit the form via fax or email → Confirm the details by phone with the coordinator → Coordinate the content of the visit → Finalize the visit itinerary → Attend the visit, including a reception and briefing session.
Visit Activities:

Special requests may lead to adjustments in the visit process.
